Committee Coordinator:
The Crossings Committee works on improving the movement of trade and
transportation through border crossings, which are key factors in driving and
developing the economy. The committee also works to resolve problems and
obstacles faced by traders and business owners.
General Objective: To facilitate the movement and transportation of
goods and traders in Gaza Governorate.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Study the current situation at the crossings and analyze and document
the obstacles facing traders in entry and exit.
- Work to improve cooperation with the authorities responsible for the
crossings, including the government, security agencies, and private
institutions, to address all problems and challenges affecting the movement of
people and goods.
- Organize awareness and educational campaigns for traders on new
procedures and updates at the crossings.
- Provide assistance and technical support to traders facing problems at
the crossings during their travel or the movement of goods and determine the
necessary solutions to meet their needs.
Activities Implemented by the Committee:
- Hold regular meetings with relevant stakeholders to discuss the
challenges traders face at the crossings and to determine appropriate plans and
solutions.
- Create a database documenting the needs and problems traders face at the
crossings.
- Provide technical support and advice to traders on how to deal with
crossings procedures and facilitate
the transportation, export, and import processes, ensuring the safe and smooth
arrival of goods to their destinations.
- Coordinate, communicate, and follow up with the
authorities responsible for the crossings to improve crossings services and
ease the movement of transportation and travel.
- Develop an annual work plan outlining the
committee’s activities.
